Koalas are endemic to Australia and are only found in low-altitude, non-dense eucalyptus forests in eastern Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria.
An explorer, John Hunter, first discovered the koalas in the Blue Mountains of Australia in 1798. In the early 19th century, koalas were hunted and exported, and their numbers dropped sharply from one million to more than a thousand, Sex Doll so the Australian government enacted legislation to protect them.
