Passport needed for inter-EU flights?

Hello, I've tried googling the question with no luck, hoping someone here might know. As a non-EU citizen, do I need a passport to take a flight within the Schengen area, say Athens to Paris for example, or is an alternate ID card (such as a driver's license) sufficient to board a flight?

Thank you.

As far as I know, non-EU citizens will need a passport to take flights within the Schengen area, like from Athens to Paris. A driver's license or other ID card won't be sufficient. It's always best to have your passport with you for these flights.
If you want to double-check your documents or need more info, you might find an identity validation service helpful. Check out ***** for more details.
