Als WotLK in der Entwicklung war, gab es drei Optionen für eine Heldenklasse. Am Ende wurden sie alle zu einer zusammengefasst. Vom Necromancer hat der Todesritter die Seuchen sowie die Leichenexplosion und vom Runenmeister wurde das Ressourcensystem übernommen.
