Although it's common to expect the ***** rivalries to continue to be a source of contention but the reaction of the game's community seems to be quite the opposite, judging from posts and comments shared on the game's forums, subreddits, and Twitter. The majority of the time the players are excited to put aside all war drums and band together against common enemies.

There's a couple reasons as to why this might be. For starters, the game's story and lore have been long-running catalysts to this kind of collaboration. Horde and Alliance unifying against an enemy that is greater than either faction is something that, as a lot of players and even WoW director Ion Hazzikostas have pointed out repeatedly often in the game's narrative. Even the recent Battle for Azeroth expansion, that saw a full-blown conflict between the Horde and Alliance, eventually led to the two factions forming a team against Sylvanas and trying to hold her accountable for her war-mongering actions.

Cooperation between the factions is a theme that's popped up repeatedly over the past few years, from Alliance head Varian Wrynn's shout of "for Azeroth" in the movie for the game's Legion expansion and Horde veteran Varok Saurfang promising to "*****" of conflict between the two factions at the end the Battle for Azeroth. With that in mind, it's honestly about time that the two factions got together in a deeper way outside of simply standing next to each other in cutscenes.
